SUBSTITUTE ORGANIST, 80-100 %

We are looking for a substitute organist for one of our organists who is on parental leave. The substitute position is approximately 80-100% and lasts until mid-August 2025. As our current substitute for the position will be leaving shortly, we wish to fill the position immediately.

In this role, you will be one of five church musicians based in our central district, where the focus of service and activities takes place at Christinae Church located in the center of Alingsås.

The central district has a total of about 15 employees. The position also involves service in other churches and locations within the parish.

Christinae Church has a well-established music program with a long tradition. In total, there are eight choirs, a well-established concert program with lunch concerts twice a week, a music devotion every Saturday morning, and a concert every Saturday afternoon.

The position currently involves work with a children's choir for grades 2-4, a youth choir together with a colleague, and a ladies' choir with a mixed repertoire. It also includes organ playing at Sunday high mass, music services and concerts, as well as church ceremonies. There is some flexibility in terms of the content of the position.

Our many choirs rehearse in a specially built music hall with optimal acoustics, where an extensive choir library is also available. Christinae Church's instruments include a gallery organ renovated in 2017 by Tostareds Organ Factory (playable from the choir), a choir organ, a top-class Steinway grand piano, and a two-manual Arvidsson harpsichord.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a trained church musician, preferably at level B, but at least at level C, and has experience in church music work
• Finds joy in preserving and developing church music in the parish
• Enjoys and is good at collaborating with others in a creative and dynamic team
